We partner exclusively with licensed research institutions, universities, and medical device developers to advance healthcare innovation and improve patient outcomes.Every donation is handled with the highest standards of dignity, care, and professionalism.   • Both organ and whole-body donation are extraordinary ways to make a lasting impact.

    Whole-body donation—the focus of US Tissue—supports medical training, research, and innovation that benefit future patients.

    Organ donation, managed through government-regulated transplant networks, involves donating individual organs (such as the heart, lungs, or kidneys) to save or improve the lives of living recipients.

    US Tissue does not facilitate organ donation programs.

  • Sometimes, yes. However, organ donation for transplant takes priority. If transplantable organs are recovered, the remaining tissue may not be suitable for whole-body donation. Our team can help families understand both options.

  • No. There is no cost to donors or their families.

    US Tissue covers all expenses associated with whole-body donation—including transportation, preparation, and placement—at no charge. We are deeply grateful for every donor and family who makes this meaningful choice to advance medical science.

  • Most individuals can donate, including those with common health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or arthritis.

    However, certain factors may prevent acceptance, including:

    • HIV/AIDS or active Hepatitis B or C infection

    • Extremely high or low body mass index (BMI)

    • Legal or consent restrictions

    • Inability to match with an appropriate research or educational program

    If you’re uncertain, our team is available to help review eligibility with care and transparency.

  • Each donation makes a measurable difference. Donations may be used to:

    • Train surgeons, physicians, and medical students

    • Support the development of new medical devices and surgical techniques

    • Advance research that improves patient care

    • Create a lasting legacy of purpose and contribution

  • Absolutely. Respect and dignity are at the heart of everything we do.

    From the moment of passing through final disposition, all care follows strict ethical guidelines and industry best practices for screening, transport, storage, and use. Each donor is treated as a hero in the advancement of medicine.

  • You can pre-register at any time, or a legal next of kin may authorize donation after a loved one’s passing.
